Position Summary:

The Wallace Public Service Fellow works under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Student Life, Pro Bono Opportunities & Belonging. We have dramatically expanded the reach of the law school into the community with ten distinct and well-defined pro bono projects, and we have several more on the drawing board. This Fellow would assist administratively with running our existing programs, organizing the necessary trainings, participating in the various field activities, and helping our students in the design of new projects.

In addition to supporting the pro bono program, the Public Service Fellow would also assist with Student Life activities and events. The Public Service Fellow would also be responsible for providing the Director of Communications with content for the Campbell Law School social media accounts and website.

Finally, the Public Service Fellow would, from time to time, assist the legal efforts of Campbell Law’s newly formed Community Law Clinic on legal matters that arise within the clinic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist office with administration of existing programs, organize trainings, participate in field activities, assist in designing new projects
  • Support Student Life activities and events
  • Provide content for social media accounts and website
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, and Information Security, including, but not limited to FERPA and other state and federal guidelines
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

Education/Experience:

  • 2023 Campbell University graduate of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and common methods of digital communication
  • Comprehensive computer skills with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
  • This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University
